BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), is the only facility in B.C. providing a comprehensive range of primary, secondary and tertiary services for women, newborns and their families.

The PHSA plans, manages and evaluates selected specialty and province-wide health care services across B.C., working with the five geographic health authorities to deliver province-wide solutions that improve the health of British Columbians. For more information, please visit www.phsa.ca.

BC Women’s is a provincial resource for BC women with high risk pregnancies as well as a main maternity service provider for women and families in the Vancouver Coastal Health Region. We are a Baby-Friendly organization, a designation given by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. The designation recognizes BC Women’s commitment to enabling mothers to breastfeed their newborns.

BC Women’s provides one-of-a-kind care to meet women’s specialized health needs throughout their lives, encompassing service delivery and provincial outreach activities. These services include breast health and continence care, osteoporosis and primary heart health care, HIV/AIDS and reproductive care.

Within all our services and programs, we are committed to maintaining and continuously improving the quality and safety of our care for women, newborns and families.

BC Women’s provides provincial leadership by developing, maintaining and participating in networks of partners who share the goal of better health for women, newborns and their families.
