Dr. Alejandro Jadad and Sr. D. Pablo Rivero attended the first Global meeting of the Society of Internal Medicine, which took place today in Toronto, Canada.

Toronto Canada, April 25th, 2007 Dr. Alejandro Jadad and Sr. D. Pablo Rivero attended the first Global meeting of the Society of Internal Medicine, which took place today in Toronto, Canada. During this event, Dr. Jadad led a session on innovation on e-health at an international level and its application to chronic disease management. He reported on an intensive search of the biomedical literature and the web that allowed for the creation of OPIMEC by contributing towards its conceptual framework and its international counsel of advisors. This counsel includes members from countries such as: Canada, Australia, Singapore and the United States. The symposium was part of the annual meeting Society of Internal Medicine , which brings hundreds of specialists from around the world. According to William A. Ghali, MD, MPH, and Michael Barry, MD, coordinators this international symposium de OPIMEC creates a golden opportunity for those who wish to have an impact in chronic disease management at an international level to work together to overcome the barriers and obstacles for collaboration that still exist around the world.
